It's not a miracle…these products
just simply work!
I have worn hair weaves for a total
of 10 years. Before starting this vicious cycle of hair abuse, I actually
did have a healthy growing head of hair. But let's be honest…as
black women some of us will never have hair down to our tailbone. That
is the look that I wanted. I started with getting my hair weaves sewn
in (with French braids that were way too tight!). I loved the look but
it was quite expensive. I paid any were from $150-
$250.00(not including the price for relaxers). Not only was it expensive,
it was very painful & time consuming as well. I wanted the same
look for less money & time.
That is when I became victim of the "Quick Weave" process
(hair weave applied with bonding glue). The thought of glue & hair
combined sounds horrifying enough. You would think that would have been
my first clue. Every four weeks I would have new tracks bonded to my
natural hair. There are proper procedures for removing the tracks…
Those procedures were not used on my hair. I picked up all of these
"Bad Hair Habits" & started performing the same damaging
tactics to my hair myself. Month after month my hair stopped growing.
It started thinning/falling out. The sides of my hair started fading
first When the hair in the crown of my head starting falling out…it
did not stop! It got to the point that my hair was gone in patches all
over. I continued with the "Quick Weave" process for years.
Every time I removed my weave & replaced it with new hair I would
cry. I would literally cry like a baby because I was so ashamed of the
disaster that my "bad hair habits" had created. I convinced
myself that there was no turning back. The "Quick Weave" process
would be a permanent part of my life. I was completely bald in the crown
of my head! There was no sign of life…and trust me I searched.
I wanted to seek help from a professional. However, I was too ashamed
to unveil my head in a public place. My 2003 resolution was to come
from under the weave that I had been hiding under for so many years.
I stuck to my resolution and removed my bonded-in hair weave once and
for all!
Outside of prayer…I knew there was one person that would have the
solution to my "bald headed blues". I turned to Mikal Clay(owner
& stylist at Positive Image Salon in Aurora, IL).I knew if nothing
else he would give me his honest opinion. Did I have a chance at ever
having healthy growing hair again? Mikal Clay took one look at my hair
& said, "I can fix this!" That is when I was introduced
to his hair product line. I started using "Thrust" (drops
applied to the scalp to improve circulation) twice a day. Washing and
conditioning my hair twice a week with "Recharge Shampoo &
Encourage Conditioner".
I also take two Vita Strand Vitamins everyday(strongly recommended ).
After only three months of this continuous ritual, I now have hair growth
in areas that were once completely bald! My temples have completely
grown in with healthy hair. The back & sides of my hair are growing
so rapidly & it feels so good! I no longer cringe or cry when I
look at my hair. These products are incredible & truly a blessing!
Thank you for giving me hope in an area that I once thought was hopeless.
